Terms of Service

1. Description of the service
CapitalCurve is operated by Capitalcurve, a business established in Belgium and trading as "CapitalCurve" ("we", "us"). By using the service you enter into an agreement with Capitalcurve. CapitalCurve is a personal expense tracker. You can log income and expenses, set a monthly budget, view categorized insights, use AI-powered Smart Paste to extract transactions from text, import CSV files from your bank, create shared accounts with people you invite, and (when available) subscribe to a Pro tier that unlocks additional features such as higher AI limits and advanced reports.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, in line with the GDPR default age of digital consent in the EU. If your country sets a higher age, that age applies. Users below the applicable age may only use the service with verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian.
3. Your responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate account information, keep your password confidential, and take reasonable steps to secure the device you use. You are responsible for all activity that happens under your account. You agree not to misuse the service — no automated abuse, no attempts to break security, no illegal or harmful content.
4. Subscription, billing and refunds (Pro)
The core app is free. Pro is a paid subscription: the current price, billing period (monthly at €5 or annual at €29.99) and included features are shown at checkout before you pay. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing, tax and cancellation mechanics are also covered by the Paddle Buyer Terms (paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms). Refund policy: we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied, request a full refund within 30 days of your order date via paddle.net or by writing to support@capitalcurve.app. Cancelling stops future renewals and you keep Pro access until the end of the period you already paid for. You can cancel, update your payment method and download invoices at any time from Billing in the app, which opens the Paddle customer portal. As an EU consumer you also keep your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal on your first paid subscription.
5. Data ownership
The transactions, budgets, categories, accounts and notes you enter belong to you. We store them so the app can show them back to you and we do not sell them. CapitalCurve does not connect to your bank and never asks for banking credentials; Smart Paste and CSV import only process text or files that you provide yourself. See the Privacy Policy for details.
6. Limitation of liability
CapitalCurve is a personal tracking tool and does not provide financial, investment, tax or legal advice. The numbers, charts and summaries it shows are based on the data you enter. Financial decisions you take based on that information are your own. The service is provided "as is" and, to the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits rights that Belgian or EU consumer law grants you.
7. Termination
You may stop using CapitalCurve at any time and permanently delete your account and data from Settings. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, abuses the service, or endangers other users, generally after notice unless the abuse is serious enough to require immediate action.
8. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be brought before the competent courts of Belgium. If you are a consumer resident in another EU member state, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence and may bring proceedings before the courts of that country.

10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top and notify you in the app and, where appropriate, by email at least 15 days before the changes take effect. Continuing to use CapitalCurve after that means you accept the updated terms.
